What if the day is wet?

We are glad you asked. If it is raining on the day of your wedding unfortunately you may not be able to get married at Blunts Wood and your ceremony may be in the Dairy Barn at Milling Barn instead. Should that happen you obviously will not need the trailer to take your guests to the woodland. We have therefore come up with a number of options aimed at giving you the best value for money.

There are five options to select from:-

1. Silver service – Book the tractor alone (ie without the trailer) as a static exhibit for your photographs. Booking this option limits your liability for our charges if the weather is wet on the day to just the static display price. This sum is non- refundable, even if the day is wet.

The tractor will be available for you for up to 4 hours. During that time we can begin by parking it at the front of the venue so that your guests can see it as they arrive, thus giving the best possible visual representation that they have arrived at the right place for your wedding.

After the ceremony we can move the tractor around the venue to suit your requirements - and those of your photographer.

If the weather permits you to get married at the outside space at Blunts Wood, you can pay on the day to upgrade to the full tractor and trailer service. With this upgrade you will still have the tractor and trailer for up to 4 hours, which should be more than sufficient to provide the transport service,AND also be available for pictures once its duties with the trailer are over.

2. Gold Chauffeur service – If you commit now to ordering the tractor and trailer for your outside wedding, we can provide a car from our wedding fleet on standby as an alternative, if rain prevents the outside wedding from taking place.

With this option, if it is dry, you get the full trailer service. However, if it is wet, as an alternative the car can take the Bride from the bridal dressing suite at Milling Barn to the indoor ceremony, in the Dairy Barn, and give the happy couple a short drive after the ceremony. It is then available for photographs.

The tractor and trailer (or car if wet) will be available to you for up to 4 hours.

The choice of car cannot be guaranteed under this service option and will depend on which vehicle is available on the day. Currently our fleet includes 2 Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire 346’s; a, unique one of a kind, MG 1300 estate and a 1967 Ford Mustang. The cost of this service is not refundable if the day is wet.

3. Gold Wedding Prop service – We also have a “Wedding Prop Hire” service providing a variety of items that you can hire from us to dress the internal or external spaces at your wedding. The list of items that we have is contained on our “Prop Hire” website. Here is the link.

If you commit now to booking the tractor and trailer for your outside wedding you can, under this option, hire props from our inventory for your wedding to the value of £150 free of charge, plus there will be no charge for collecting the props the day after your wedding (worth another £12).

The cost of this service is not refundable if the day is wet. However, if it is a dry day not only do you get to enjoy the tractor and trailer, you ALSO have saved £162 over the cost of hiring the props separately.

Wedding Prop Hire

4. Platinum Chauffeur service – In addition to the tractor and trailer for your guests, you can have the chauffeur driven wedding car, of your choice, for your transport from Milling Barn to and from Blunts Wood. With this option we would transport your guests down to Blunts Wood but switch to the car to take the bride down, and bring you both back to Milling Barn after the ceremony, as well as bringing your guests back on the trailer.

This option adds £100 to the Gold service price, provided you are happy for one chauffeur to drive both vehicles. The charge is not refundable if the day is wet.

5. Platinum Self Drive service – Alongside the trailer service for your guests why not drive yourself from Milling Barn to the woodland and back in a classic car? Choose either our MGB GT or the Ford Mustang – surely the ultimate bucket list car. The charge is not refundable if the day is wet.

The MGB adds £100 to the Gold service price.

The Mustang adds £150 to the Gold service price.
